certified Translator and Lawyer with PhD

WHAT IS MEANT BY CERTIFIED TRANSLATION?

A certified translation is the translation of a document performed by an authorized official translator, who with his own stamp certifies the correctness of the translation and its accuracy. In Germany, every translator is required to swear an oath before the President of the competent Court. I sworn my oath at the Court of Munich and I am authorized to tranlsate from German into Italian and from Italian into German. A sworn translation is required for notarial writings, birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, licenses, criminal records extracts, university diplomas or school leaving certificates, clinical reports, company register extracts, school reports, contracts, administrative documents and in general for any document to be translated for which a certain official status is required.

HOW MUCH DOES THE CERTIFIED TRANSLATON COST?

INDICATEVELY, I calculate the price of a certified translation starting from the number of standard lines (55 characters, spaces included). HOWEVER, the price of a certified translation depends not only on the length of the document, but also on the difficulty of the content, the formatting work required, and the urgency of the delivery. Therefore, I will only be able to give you a definitive price after examining the document to be translated.

WHAT IS MEANT BY SPECIALIST TRANSLATION?

A Specialist translation is the translation of a scientific, academic or technical text from the source language into the target language. Not only translation skills are required for this, the translator must also have a certain know-how in a specific subject and be familiar with the terminology of the corresponding subject area both in the source language and in the target language. As a lawyer with PhD in Law, I can of course translate legal texts from any legal area. However, my experience goes further than that and I have now developed the basic knowledge and practical skills to work as a translator carefully and consciously in other areas as well.

HOW MUCH DOES THE SPECIALIST TRANSLATON COST?

It is not possible to determine a rate applicable to each translation. In general, I determine the price for the specialist translation according to the number of standard pages, but also taking int oconsideration various other factors, such as the difficulty of the text, the area, the subject, the purpose, the urgency, etc.

WHAT IS MEANT BY PROOFREADING?

Proofreading a translation consists of carefully and accurate rereading the translated text to ensure the highest quality. Proofreading means that the text is not only corrected in terms of spelling and grammar, but also in terms of syntax, lexical and stylistic aspects; attention is paid to formatting and layout as well. If you are not satisfied with a translation or you are unsure of its correctness, a new translation of the text is not always necessary. You need a proofreading of the text and I will be happy to correct and improve your texts that have already been translated into Italian.

HOW MUCH DOES THE PROOFREADING OF A TEXT COST?

Proofreading costs are always lower than translation costs and vary depending on how the text has been translated: the higher the quality of the translation, the lower the proofreading costs; conversely, a bad translation requires more proofreading and is therefore more expensive. The quality of a translation is influenced by many factors. It is not possible to determine the price for the necessary proofreading work in advance.
